Mens Fashion Trends Report 13
Spring Summer 2010

Men’s fashion trends tend to get overshadowed the fashion heavyweight, women’s fashion, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some mens clothes trends that you guys can keep an eye on and see what’s hot and what’s not for men this season.

First up it’s the retro All-American trend which has been featured across the catwalk shows and is inspired by retro American sportswear but with a slightly nostalgic feel, with a nod to the 1950’s classic American style. The base for this fashion trend is set in pastel colours, shirts, tailored shorts and nautical t-shirts but with a slightly preppy style twist. Mix in dark jeans or beige chinos along with shirts in off-pastel colours, light blues and yellows and top off with a summer knit to complete the look.

Also back for the Spring Summer 2010 season is the short suit but the ones shown off at New York and London’s Fashion Week’s were showing off more leg than previous versions for a tailored summer look. The short suit also breaks an old fashion rule – that the trousers and jacket of a suit must always be made from the same cloth. Fashions moved along however, so feel free to mix it up a bit. The short suit is a quirky alternative to the classic tailored suite with jacket and trouser silhouette and offers a great versatile look for the upcoming summer months.

The blazer is also making an appearance in a major way, adding a really versatile piece to any mans wardrobe. Of course the blazer isn’t a new idea but it is part of the ‘relaxed tailoring’ feel to the men’s fashion lines and looks great with evening wear, a simple tee, a scarf, shorts and pretty much anything really and now the blazer is available in a number of styles and colours so you will be able to find something for every look.

Now you know what mens clothing you’re looking for why not give your wardrobe a boost and update it with some key pieces that will give you an outfit for day or night, work or play.
