Be Rich in Blue for Summer 2009

Blue always appears every season but the interesting we need to note is the various shades used by designers for different seasons. There are particularly beautiful shades this Summer 2009.

Let's look at one of my favorite navy suit by Dries Van Noten. Its navy color is very rich and intense. In addition it has a shine to the fabric that makes it very impressive.

Probably most people would associate pastel blues as suitable choices for Summer and indeed there are many nice light pastel blue colors this season. It simply gives a great sense of coolness even during this warm season.

From left, Gucci light blue cardigan that is matched with khaki colored pants and brown shirts simply blend well. In the middle, the light sky blue suit jacket by Marc Jacobs that is worn with a dark red pants. Contrast between a soft colored top with rich colored bottom. On the right, Paul Smith uses a lavender blue jacket against a pink polo shirt and light cream jeans. It uses pastel based color matching. Very interesting color combination.

Hermes used very unique blue based colors for their knitwear.

Lastly, rich shades of blue did not lose its appeal since Autumn/Winter season and continues to flow to this Summer 2009. From left, Marc Jacobs played with two shades of blue focusing on the rich blue double-breasted suit jacket against sky blue shirt and pants worn with white sneakers. Who says double breasted suits look serious? In the middle and right, Salvatore Ferragamo uses a full suit and shirt combination that focuses on the richness of blue. Lanvin, on the right, gave a cool 1980's look with its blue jacket and pants.
