Mens Shoes
Fall Winter 2011
Mens shoes are probably the most important topper to a man's outfit. The right pair can take a look from proper to poor - and vice versa! If all else fails, just stick to the classics. However, if you like to try out the mens shoes Fall Winter 2011 trends, take these styles for spin.
Dress shoes have gotten a rugged makeover. Everything from slip ons to lace ups are getting the boot-bottom treatment. This style is characterized by a thick sole with heavy tread, as if they were going to be used for hiking. Pictured, clockwise from top left: Jil Sander, Burberry, Junya Watanabe, Dries Van Noten.

Another common sight on the designer runway this season are straps. Often these feature buckles, but sometimes they are simply strips of leather or suede or even elastic drawn across the shoe in some manner. The result is that a formal-looking shoe is rendered more casual and trendy, while a casual shoe ends up looking best for sporting events. A class style that's making a comeback is the embellishment of mens shoes with tassels. This is primarily seen on slide-on dress shoes, but can also be worn casually. Pictured, clockwise from top left: Junya Watanabe, Burberry, Giorgio Armani, Lanvin.

A more subtle, but definitely visible, trend is that toward cap-toe shoes for men. This is another classic detail, updated for modern styles. The cap is sometimes a different hue, but often it's tone-on-tone, but with a varied material. Pictured, from left to right: Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani.
