Mens Shoes Fall Winter 2010 - 2011
Like it or not, gentlemen, your shoes say a lot about you. When a woman sees a man and is considering him as a mate she will, invariably, notice his shoes. Whether she's aware of it, or is doing so subconsciously, a woman will make assessments not just of a man's style, but of his lifestyle, his social and economic status, and sometimes even what kind of lover he is. All from his shoes! That's why it's very important for the style-aware man to choose his shoes with care. They can make or break your outfit - and possibly your social life, too! For all of 2010 the classics are very much in style. Traditional and retro shoes like spectator and saddle shoes are getting the high-fashion treatment. You can wear them with a suit, or pair them with slacks are jeans. If you're wearing them casually, try rolling the hem of your pants to expose socks are bare ankles. Oxfords are another classic style that have really taken off this year. They are so popular you'll see them being offered in a vast variety - tapered, without laces, in various colors and even in styles made for women. They are always suitable with a suit or casual pants and shorts. They slip-ons are not the best choice, however, for dressy occasions. Knee-high boots have been a staple in women's fashion for years, but they were rare in the men's fashion repertoire. That has gradually changed and reached a point at which high boots are quite common for men. One style, as shown on the runway by Bottega Veneta is the combat boot. These speak to the ongoing military trend in men's fashion. These look good with jeans or pants tucked into them. If you like the grunge look, wear these with shorts and a plaid shirt tied around your waist. Lanvin's boots fuse a dress shoe shape with boot proportions and rugged leather appliqués, resulting in a modern combat look. Louis Vuitton recalls the equestrian style, but this pair is equipped with a handy zipper to allow you to transform them into a low boot.

Perhaps one of the most temporal trend is the comeback of Doc Martens boots. Designer Michael Bastian showed is Fall/Winter 2010 collection with Doc Martens in various colors. But it's not just about the brand.

Actually, the style of thick rubber soles is very fashionable at the moment. Giorgio Armani made a pull-on pair with no laces in basic black, and Bottega Veneta created green leather shoes with a thick sole. This is a good turn for men's shoes, considering that women's shoes are getting higher platforms every season. This trend helps men compete and add a little height while maintaining a masculine sense of style.
