I usually wear it with this pair of khaki pants from Gap.

The thing is, until recently, I didn't know about pant breaks. In fact, I realized I may be buying my pants a bit too short. The pants typically cover my shoe but i hear that if your socks show while you're walking, that's a no-no. Hopefully, I can put these khaki's to use with a different type of shoe if I am wearing them incorrectly with these oxfords. I've heard so many different opinions on pant breaks that I don't know who to trust anymore.

Regarding pant's break, it is important to note that your pants should rest as per the gap picture you showed me. That is it backend of the pants rest close to the top of the heels of the shoe. There should be a little gathering of fabric when your pants rest on the top of the shoe.

It is absolutely fine to reveal your socks when you are walking. But it is not fine if you are standing straight and your pants break still reveals your socks. When taking in consideration about pants break, always gauge it based on standing up straight rather than walking. The resting of the pants should be judged wearing your shoes.

However, different shoes have different levels of bulkiness. So the bulkier shoes will naturally let your pants rest higher while less bulky shoes like slip-ons let the pants break at lower parts of your feet. Most importantly, the pants should not touch the floor and the back end has to rest at the top part of the heels of the shoes.
