Wearing Your Sport Coats the Right Way

I have a questions. I have several Docker style pants - in the khaki, gray and brown color. Like chino style pants, they are made out of a heavier style fabric than normal dress pants. I would like to be able to find a dress jacket(s) to go with these type of pants. Does any company make sport jackets using similar material that chino/docker style pants are made from? Basically, my question is can normal Dockers be turned into a suit with a matching type jacket? Thanks.

There are definitely sport coats with similar or close to the colors matching your Dockers khakis and chinos. However, sport coats are not meant to be like suits where they go in same color and fabric as your pants. Since you have chosen to wear casual pants, why would you want to make it look like a suit? Wearing suits is supposed to make you look formal based on the finishing, fabric as well as being one color and pattern. The only suit that can be worn with such casualness would be cotton suit. It is less formal than wool-based suits but still maintain its formality in its cutting and finishing.

Casual pants and sports coats, instead, should give you a casual look. It is not necessary to wear them based on same color. It is wearing them based on different color tones and styles that gives it a nice casual feel. It is the play of having a darker tone jacket against a lighter colored pants or likewise light colored jacket with dark pants that makes the whole combination splendid and stylish.
