Dress Casual Clothing for Office Environment

Question:

Hello MFT, I work in an office as a manager and I'm looking to get promoted. The environment is dress casual. What would be a good choice of attire without being to ovious that Im looking to move up. I'm 50 years old 5"10 and 195 lbs. White male.

Answer:

Since it is a dress casual environment, then probably you would like to wear sports jackets or blazers with dress shirts and pants without any neckties. I would consider this style as a formal form of casual dressing. However, it is still relative to the dressing of the other employees in your company. If you intend to make it even more casual, then you can consider wearing polo shirts instead of dress shirts.
