Wearing Suit Jacket with Jeans

Question:

I recently purchased three suits, tan, navy pinstripe and black. They are all single breasted, two of them two button and one three button, are any of the jackets okay to wear with jeans for a more casual look or is the jacket and jean combo reserved for sports jackets only?

Answer:

Generally I would not choose to wear my suit jackets with jeans or any other pants. I would rather choose a sports jacket to match with these pants or jeans. Reason is each time you dry clean your suit jacket, it is advisable to do it together with the suit pants so that it can be ensured that any decoloration can be universal between the suit jacket and pants. If you choose to do it separately then it might fade the jacket faster than the pants.

Another reason is I would rather wear a casual style sports jacket to make the overall look casual. Mixing a well-cut and designed suit jacket with jeans or pants makes a bad coordination without a good blend. Imagine a casually designed sport jacket with jeans, then the finishing would be smooth and focused.... it is casual.
