Fashion Advice 3

Question:
Could you explain how the gauntlet buttons allow rolling back of the cuffs with ease? Should the button be left done up when you do that? Or should it be undone?

Also, I like wearing French Cuff Shirts with cufflinks very much. They are stylish and I have quite a collection of cufflinks. However, on warm days, I find I need to roll back my cuffs.

However I do not remove my cufflinks, but simply unfasten them and fold them into the cuffs and fold the cuffs back. The links sit quite snugly in the cuffs and they do not fall out and I enjoy wearing them this way. I can have the best of both worlds.

Is this OK to do this? Do you know of others who may do this? I don't feel particularly comfortable with the Links removed from a French cuff shirt which is why I leave them in even if the cuffs are rolled back.

Answer:
The gauntlet button should be left buttoned, then fold up your cuffs once until your sleeves bent at the gauntlet button. Then pull up the sleeves until the gauntlet button tightens around the forearm or elbow area.

It would not be possible if the gauntlet button has been unbuttoned. In olden days, they have sleeve bands to further hold up the sleeves.

I would never leave my cufflinks hanging on my cuffs. They are too precious for me to do that. Never know whether they might drop off without my knowledge.

I have also hardly heard of anyone doing that. But I might consider trying it out to test its feasibility in hanging on the cuffs.
