Recommendations for Designer Mens Dress Shoes with Prominent Logos

I just found your webpage in google, and wanted to ask you a question. I will also be buying your grooming book. Anyway, this is probably the weirdest fashion question you have ever gotten. My boss at work wants me to buy a "fancy" "expensive" pair of shoes. He says it should be a brand that sounds fancy, like Gucci or whatever. But get this, he wants me to get some shoes that have some kind of a name tag on them, that lets his business associates know they are "gucci" (or armani or whatever). My question is, what kind of shoe would you suggest? I know nothing about shoes, other than to buy them at WalMart! What would you suggest? Thanks, henry

Indeed, this definitely one of the weirdest request from a boss that I have come across.

Firstly, you must understand that going for such designer shoes means the price is going to be much higher than your usual Walmart shoes. You are basically paying for the price of their brand + workmanship.

Having shoes with logos and brands showing never makes a pair of shoes classy but instead makes people know that you can afford designer shoes. Such shoes might not even be classy in any case either. Therefore, it is definitely something that I will never attempt or be interested in. I buy shoes that has quality finishing with subtle designs without being loud and prices that also meets my budget.

However, I will still recommend shoes within your specification from Bluefly.com’s Men's Department.

• Click on shoes and you find many designer shoes available for men.

• Check out Gucci shoes in the section where they have slip on loafers with prominent guccisima logos.

• There is a choice of colors in brown and black. Make preferential choice.

• For the logos to be prominent, the brown ones are usually a better choice.

If you click on Prada or Hermes shoes, you will hardly find any shoes with prominent logos. The reason is most of these well-made classy shoes do not have labels on them. They are stylish and designed to show their quality instead of the brand.

It would be good to find out if your boss wants you to wear a pair of well-designed and stylish dress shoes or he really wants one that is branded. Even if you have a designer dress shoe but you fail to upkeep and maintain it properly, it can still end up looking like any other ordinary pair of dress shoes.
