What other colored dress shirts to match my black double breasted suit for a wedding?

Attending an afternoon wedding (5:00PM) at Lake Tahoe in two weeks. Want to pack lightly, so plan on wearing double breasted black suit. Is pale lavender or purple shirt with a contrasting tie still fashionable? How about a teal shirt with appropriate tie? Any other suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Since you are wearing a double breasted black suit, then most colors will coordinate pretty well with it. You should be more focused on the color shirts that can match your skin complexion and hair. But since you have left out this detail, I would say the pale lavender or purple shirt is ok. In actual fact, I would rather go for the purple shirt. It would be even better if your pale lavender shirt has purple stripes on it. This will help to create similar hue variation over your monochromatic colored suit.
