Fashion Advice 2

Fashion Advice 2

Question:
I have a question. I wore a light gray button up shirt with olive dress pants. I separated the two with a black belt and black shoes. I was quickly corrected that I should have worn a brown belt and shoes with this combination. I'm not sure where I went wrong please advice.

Advice:
Seriously, there is absolutely no problem wearing black shoes against your olive dress pants and light gray shirt. Preferably most would want to wear a brown belt and shoes to match against the olive pants.

The overall color flow would be smooth but not a definite. Combining it with brown belt and shoes makes the combination a less formal one compared to black ones.

Refer to How to Match Mens Dress Shoes with Mens Suits and Pants for more resources.
