Fashion Advice 18

Fashion Advice 18:
How to keep shirts well tucked in your pants?

Question:

When I was in the Marine Corps I use to wear shirt/sock suspenders that would pull the shirt tight. Is it ok to use these? Is it fashionable to have the sirt pulled tight? I find myself costantly pulling in my shirt in the back with both hands and creasing and tucking it in my pants.

Answer:

You have a very interesting question. If you do try wearing the shirt/sock suspenders, then you would be returning to the days as a Marine. I don't think you need to do anymore.

Having your shirt pulled tight would make you look very smart but it gives a very regimental styling. In order to keep your shirts well-tucked, it would be good to buy a well-fitted or slim-fitted shirt as well as having your pants belted up so that the shirt stays tucked.

However, I would remind you that you can never stop your shirts to slip out slightly from your pants unless you use those suspenders. I personally think it is fine to have your shirts slip out a bit because you would look natural. But we must take note that our shirts do not slip out too much otherwise anyone would definitely look very untidy.

My shirts are tailored slim-fit and I wear my pants fitted around the waist with belt to hold down my shirts. There has always been little problem with my shirts slipping out too much.
