Are tapered pants in?What are types of shoes to wear with tapered pants

Question:

My boyfriend just purchased a pair of black lambskin leather pants. They're pretty skin tight and fit tightly around his ankles, so much so that they can't be pulled over a short boot. Now he's at a loss to know what type of shoe to wear with them that won't look silly. We could sure use some advice.

Answer:

Please look at the two pictures attached that are fashion shows for Spring 2007 from Prada & Raf Simons, all are reknown European designers.

Firstly, tapered pants are the “in” thing now. So your boyfriend is on the right track for the tapered pants but wrong for its material. But what the heck… we can still style it nicely.

It would be good if you can tell me what is the style that your boyfriend is trying to achieve when he bought that pair of pants.

Anyway, these are some of my opinions: Take note of the shoes they wear in pics… actually it is not in any different from the dress shoes other men are wearing except they are with a sharp and long front in plain toes. Why? This makes the overall look a sleek one. Imagine wearing a wide toe or cap-toe style, then it would definitely make him look like wearing a Mickey Mouse-looking shoe.
