What colored pants and tie color to match most of the colored dress shirts?Question:My husband has a job which provides him with (almost) every color dress shirt, with their logo on them. He usually dresses in jeans and work boots. Occasionally he likes to dress it up a bit though. He only owns a very nice, attractive pair of brown dress shoes and always wears a polished brown belt. Will you please help me decide what color dress pants and especially what color tie? He wears a black tie because that's all he's ever had. I want to help with his endeavor to make the office more professional. HELP? Please? Thank you, Cassie Answer:Actually it is very difficult to recommend the right color dress pants and tie color since your husbands choice of color dress shirts are so wide. However, generally navy colored pants can match very well with most colored dress shirts. So that should be your first choice. Otherwise, you can go for striped navy dress pants to add a slight differentiation to your sets of navy colored pants. The other colors to choose are black, charcoal, and light gray. These are the chromatic colors that can go well with most light and dark colored shirts. As for the choice of colors for ties, the best is to choose ties which has similar color schemes as the shirts. That is choosing ties with similar hue or same hue of a darker or lighter tone than the shirts. This will make the overall look well-coordinated and smart.
