I bought a silk light coat from Paul Fredrick, its ivory in color. I want to know if I can wear white or off white pants with it since I do not find that they match well? Or should I wear my gold pants with it?
Answer:
This is actually an easy color to match because going with off-white pants or dark colored pants or even your golden colored pants can still make the combo acceptable.
However, I would rather go for a slightly darker tone pants against the sport coat to create a nicer contrast. So your gold pants would make a nicer combination than the off-white.
Most importantly, when you wear your off-white pants, how do you feel? Does it look acceptable to you? This is the critical question you should ask yourself. You should feel comfortable with what you wear. Even if I tell you that the white and off-white are suitable colored pants, you must still feel that wearing them is nothing wrong.
